Glioblastoma Immune Microenvironment
Glioblastoma is heavily infiltrated by bone marrow derived myeloid cells and few lymphoid T cells. The GBM immune microenvironment is considered highly immunosupressive and pro-tumorigenic. Our laboratory studies the mechanisms responsible for the development of this unique immune environment and how standard of care therapies (fractionated radiation therapy and temozolomide chemotherapy) affect its immune composition and function. We strive to identify novel targets for therapeutic intervention.
